Privacy Policy

The short version

• You sign in with Google and voluntarily tell your agent about yourself and who you’re looking for.
• Your photos are analyzed by our proprietary agentic intelligence — privately and securely, and never by a human — so your agent can match you. The analysis is never shown to other members.
• We use a small number of trusted providers to run the service. We don’t sell your data or use tracking-ad cookies.
• You can ask us to access or delete your data at any time.

Information we collect

• Account. From Google sign-in: your name, email, profile picture, and Google account ID.
• What you tell your agent. The free-text you write about yourself and your preferences, and structured attributes we extract from it (e.g. age, city, interests — and, if you choose to share them, sensitive attributes such as gender identity, ethnicity, religion, or politics).
• Photos. The images you upload, their file metadata (EXIF, which may include the location where a photo was taken), and a private analysis of each photo produced by our proprietary agentic intelligence (see below).
• Usage & security. Sign-in events, including IP address and browser, kept as a security/audit log. Invitations you send and receive.

Photo analysis & sensitive attributes

To match you well, your photos are analyzed by our proprietary agentic intelligence. No human ever sees or reviews this analysis — it is a fully automated system, which is precisely what keeps it private and secure. It produces a private description and attributes such as apparent age, build, hair/eye colour, visible accessories or symbols, and — as uncertain, low-confidence visual estimates — apparent ethnicity and gender presentation, used only to match you. Where you state something about yourself in your own words (for example your gender identity), your self-declaration is authoritative and takes precedence over any estimate.

Some of this is “special-category” data under laws like the GDPR. We process it only to operate the private matching service, on the basis of your explicit consent, which you give by uploading photos and completing your profile. It is never displayed to other members and never used for advertising. You can withdraw consent by deleting the relevant content or your account.

How we use your data

• To run the introduction service and suggest compatible matches.
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To send you service emails (e.g. invitations, match digests).
• To operate, debug, and improve the service.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your data. To run neverswipe we rely on a small number of vetted service providers (“processors”) that handle data strictly on our behalf and under contract, in these categories:

• Sign-in — to authenticate you (Google OAuth).
• Cloud hosting & storage — to run the app and store your photos privately.
• AI processing — to analyze photos and text for matching (processed transiently; not used to train third-party models under our terms).
• Transactional email — to send you service messages.
• Background jobs & monitoring — to keep the service running reliably.
• Analytics — cookieless, aggregate traffic only.

We can provide the current list of named sub-processors on request — just email us (see “Contact”). We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect the service and its members.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data (including photos and their analysis) within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records for legal or security reasons.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data; withdraw consent; object to or restrict processing; and request a copy of your data. Email us and we’ll help.

Security

Photos are stored in a private bucket and served only to you and, for support/moderation, our administrators — never via public links. Sessions use signed, http-only cookies over HTTPS. Access is restricted and secrets are kept in a managed secrets store. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. Our analytics (Umami) is cookieless. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Children

neverswipe is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it.

Changes

We may update this policy; we’ll change the date above and, for material changes, notify you.
